RAW by Belle Aurora

Genre: Romance, Adult Fiction, Erotica

Synopsis
***Author Note: This is not a love story. This is a story of love gone wrong.***
Growing up the way I did, you’d think I’d be more screwed up than what I actually am.
Soon as I turned sixteen, I left that bump in the road I called home and took my chances on the street.
Best decision I ever made.
Now, at the age of twenty six, I’m educated, employed and damn good at my job.
My friends have become my family. Like me, they know what it’s like to grow up unloved.
But the saying is true.
The world makes way for those who know where they are going.
That’s me.
I know where I’m going and I’ll get there eventually. On my own terms and at my own pace.
But then there’s him.
I feel his eyes on me. I see him hiding in plain sight. He watches me.
He makes me feel.
It’s unconventional.
But it’s real.
I’m sure you’re wondering how a person falls in love with their stalker.
So am I.
This isn’t a story.
This is my life.

“We are all addicted to something that takes away the pain”
A different kind of “love” story that blooms in a very odd way where the heroine is describe as an Angel that falls in love with her stalker, which is much prefer himself as a Villain.

Meet Alexa ‘Lexi’ Ballentine, a very hard working lady, a good friend and very passionate about helping other people, she had secrets on her own. On the other hand meet the very damaged and broken man, Twitch. Who will make your world upside down, a really bad boy with a hard core but with a soft heart. You will fall for HIM ABSOLUTELY! Swoon worthy! Good girls fall for BAD boy’s right? Their similarity both tormented from the ugliness of their past.

The story is very complicated; it tackles sensitive issues that occur in our society nowadays, abuse, drugs, rape and even anger issues. It tells the aftermath of what will happen to a person who undergoes this kind of traumatic experience when growing up.

It was full of emotions, especially coming from Twitch, he is really fucked up at first I really hate him of what he did to Lexi, and he is such a bastard! But still I find him attractive, because he never gives up. He will get what he wants whatever it takes. My heart really belongs to HIM. His possessiveness, sweetness and being very dominant my oh my I LOVER HIM.

It is not your typical story but you will fall in love with the characters and the story itself because every individual is very unique and interesting. It is intended for mature readers because of the languages and sex scenes which is by the way really HOT. Now I remember it, I want to read it again (lol). The writing is great, the narration is clear; there is no dull moment in the story. It will capture your interest from the beginning until the end. And speaking of the “end” many of the readers didn’t accept the ending cause it is not a HEA actually but in my opinion, it was good. Because knowing Twitch in this story and his personality he will fight for what he wants but sometimes you will take a risk to protect what you treasure so he choose the one that he thinks what is best for Lexi.

It was my first time to read Belle Aurora’s work and I’m not disappointed. She is very talented in creating a story different from the rest but still convey a very meaningful lesson to the reader. It has depth and very entertaining.

LOVE IT! More power and I definitely read more of your works *(^o^)*

Life's a Cappella by Yessi Smith

Synopsis

I want to tell you how great my life was. How I lived without regrets. With constant laughter. Without any tears. I want to tell you how I lived each moment to the fullest. How each breath I took was fresh and full of life. With eagerness. Without any fear.
I want to tell you all of that, but then my story would be masked with lies and not worth telling.
My life didn’t start until I left my past. And I left everything. My mother, my friends, my name.
My new name, the name everyone knows me by is Erin Lewis.
Four years after finding the courage to leave her hometown in Alabama, Erin is finally happy with where her life has led her. Not only is she secure in her environment, but the relationships she has formed center her, making her forget how damaged she once was. Before she can fully settle into her new life, her past crashes into her present, unraveling a set of events that destroy the very foundation she has built her new life on.

My Review

I was given a copy for an honest review.
“My life didn’t start until I left my past. And I left everything, my mother, my friends, my name.”

This line captures my attention, it is very intriguing, it tells that something happen from her past that she wants to escape and start a new life as a new person. And the big question is what triggers her to left everything behind.

The story tackles a very sensitive issue about addiction, child abuse and rape. It shows the aftermath of what will happen to a child that experiences this kind of treatment inside the house and it is very alarming. We all want a happy family, good memories from childhood, the unconditional love, the warmth that it brings, the security it provides, but what if all this is just a dream for some?

It is a story about a girl, meet Erin Lewis that’s her name, the name she created to mirror the new life she wants to begin in Miami. Strong willed but has huge insecurities. She is not perfect and very stubborn. Sometimes I hate her and sometimes I love her.  After knowing her completely in the story, her struggles and hardship I fully understand why she is acting like that. She is broken, damaged beyond repair and the only remedy for her… acceptance.

It was narrated on Erin’s POV and Shayna. At first I’m confused who is Shayna is, I taught it was Erin’s real name and she has some flashbacks from where she is a child. But later in the story she was introduced a little twist that make the story more beautiful because it shows the different person Erin is capable of. I’m a little bothered on Shayna’s POV she is only four years old and she sounded like an eight years old to me because her thinking is too deep. She has a nightmare on her own and I really feel the need to comfort her and take care of her. Every child deserves love and care not the other way around.  I adore her and I think she is the turning point of Erin’s life in the story.

And there is Trent, the perfect prince charming for a very broken girl. At first I’m not attracted to him but later in the story he redeem himself, I love his character, his passion and understanding, his patience because sometimes Erin is very annoying and selfish but he never gives up, and most especially the unconditional love he shows to Erin.

The story is about friendship, love, family and acceptance.  All in all it was a good read for me, the writing is good the flow of the story is smooth, it was clearly narrated, past facing, there is some part that bored me but in the middle of the story until the last part it was good.  What I love is the lesson of the story, ‘sometimes people with the worst pasts end up creating the best futures.’ (Unknown) and for Erin life’s a cappella.

Kudos! Thanks for the copy I really appreciate it. Looking forward for more of your works.

~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**
Excerpt:
“It’s just such a difficult situation.”
“Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.”
I finally concede and look into Stella's eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me.
“Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.”
Fuck.
I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book.
This is my life.
And I’m going to try to get it.
“No lies, ever,” I whisper.
About the Author:
I don't do 'normal'.
I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second.
I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come.....
Til next time.
~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**

Excerpt:

“Let’s make a pact.” Chase put his hand on my shoulder.
“A pact?” I sniffled and turned to him. “What kind of pact?”
“One that’s forever. One that protects people rather than hurts them.”
“How do we do that?” I was suddenly interested. What if I could make all the hurt go away? What if I could save everyone!
“We do this.” Chase pulled out his pocketknife and cut open his hand then nodded to me to do the same thing. Without pausing I cut open my hand and handed back the knife. “Blood brothers. We’re never gonna hurt each other and we’re gonna save those like your ma, Nixon. Ones who can’t save themselves. We’re going to protect them.”
“How?” I watched as the blood dripped from my open palm.
“Rules.” Chase shrugged. “They keep people safe, right? At least that’s what my mom says.” He smiled. “We make rules and we start our own club. That way, we don’t have to listen to anyone but us.”
I liked it. I chewed on my lower lip. “What do we call ourselves?”
“The chosen?” Chase offered.
“No, that sounds lame. We have to sound… more powerful than that.”
My eyes flickered to the road, and a sign poked into the ground. It said election. “Elect.” I pointed. “Let’s call ourselves The Elect.” It made sense; after all, the president was elected, wasn’t he? We weren’t exactly chosen, but we were making the choice, we were electing ourselves protectors. That’s what we were.
“Who else can join?” Chase asked.
“Tex and Phoenix. They’ll want to.” A weight suddenly felt like it was being lifted off my twelve-year-old shoulders. “Should we shake on it?”
“Yeah.” Chase smashed his hand against mine as our blood mixed. “No going back, Nixon.”
“No.” I shook my head. “No going back.”

I pressed my fingers to my temples and watched, replaying that moment over and over again in my head as the outline of Chase and Tracey flickered in the moonlight. Would he really do this to me? After all the shit we’d been through?
I gauged her reaction, hoping that I would be wrong. Praying to God that Trace would just this once listen to me. Her eyes flickered with interest for a few brief seconds before she looked down at the ground.
“Shit.” I waited in the shadows. A part of me knew this would happen. The part that told me to damn my feelings to hell and ignore all the warning signs that I’d been seeing. But now it seemed like it was too late. I stayed, planted where I was, watching, and waiting.
“Chase, you can’t…” Trace shook her head. “You can’t be like this. We can’t do this!”
“We aren’t doing anything,” Chase said in low tones, reaching for Trace’s hand. “Don’t you?” He looked directly at me, although all he saw was a shadow. I knew I was well hidden. “Don’t you feel the same way?”
Trace jerked her hand away from Chase’s. “It doesn’t matter what I feel. It’s not about me, Chase.”
“But it is.” Chase reached for her again. This time her hand grasped his in such an intimate embrace I thought I was going to vomit all over the ground. The outside air was cold as hell as little pieces of ice tried to find their way into my wool coat.
“It isn’t.” Trace sighed. “It never was.”
Chase jerked her toward him. She fell against his chest and looked up into his eyes. “What are you doing?”
Chase sighed. “What I should have done a long time ago.” He grabbed the back of her head and pulled her in for a kiss. Their lips touched.
I had to look away.
The only sound in the night was that of my soft footsteps as I walked away… leaving my heart in broken pieces where I’d last stood. She was lost to me; it wasn’t even the Sicilians that had taken her, but my best friend.
A gunshot rang out loud and clear in the night air. I turned back around just in time to see Trace collapse into Chase’s arms.
