1949 by Mallory Knox

When my grandma passed away, my brother created a video of her. My brother loves alternative rock music so I'm not surprised that the background music that he used is a rock music. I don't object cause I can handle his genre in fact he is my influence why I like listening to his kind of music. We played the video on the third night of the wake of my grandma and I'm really surprised the melody is very smooth and the lyrics just blew me away. I've cried while watching the video cause I've missed my 'Ima', she is the one who took care of me when I was young, the video shows a lot of picture of us happy. My tears just keep on flowing cause I can feel the meaning of the song it really capture my heart, it is a story of an old couple with undying love for each other. Even as they aged she is still beautiful in his eyes.
I wanna share some of the lyrics of the song, 1949 by Mallory Knox.

Captive in the Dark by Cj Roberts

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

Fear of Falling by S.L. Jennings

I can’t remember the last time I felt completely safe. Security seemed more like a luxury to me, reserved for those who were fortunate enough to have picture perfect childhoods. For those who didn’t bear the ugly scars that keep me bound in constant, debilitating fear. I’ve run from that fear my entire life. But when I met him, for once, I couldn’t run anymore.

He scared the hell out of me in a way that excited every fiber of my being. It wasn’t the tattoos or the piercings. It wasn’t the warmth that seemed to radiate from his frame and blanket me whenever he was near. It was just…him. The scary beautiful man that threatened to alter 23 years of routine and rituals, and make me face my crippling fear.

My name is Kami and I am constantly afraid. And the thing that scares me the most is the very thing I want.

“Don’t worry,” he smiled, pulling me into the hard warmth of his chest. “I’ve got you. I’ll always catch you when you fall.”

And just like that, Blaine had staked his claim on the untouched part of me that no living soul had ever moved. He had captured every fear, every reservation, and crushed them in the palm of his inked hand.

My Review

Fear. What do you feared the most? is it to be hurt? to be broken into pieces? to be left alone? or to be loved?

Most of the books that I've read nowadays is all about the secret past of the lead characters it differs on what secret they supposed to hide. In this story is all about the abuse that Kami encounter when she was a child and she carries the scars until adulthood. All the while she knew she can handle her past and move on she meets the hot and sexy bartender Blaine, the ever loving Blaine, who's willing to accept and catch her when she falls.

The story is well written, very clear, and heart warming, and not just your ordinary story it tackles a very sensitive topic that most women encounter in their childhood. I love the choice of songs included in the book, I love the part when Kami sang one of the famous songs of Paramore, "The Only Exception" I cried at that part of the book, cause you can feel her struggles and fear and willing to open up just for one more person who can actually save her.

Love, love, love the story I'm looking forward to read more books from this talented author! It is simply the best.

My Review

FADING by E.K. Blair

Acceptance… what will you do to be accepted by the only people you cared about? How can you accept things to be alright when it seems the life you know is slowly fading…

The story is something new to me, when I started reading it I don’t want to sleep until I finished it, and I’m very satisfied with the ending. It tackles a very sensitive story that some women experiencing right now, mostly they are tormented and having a hard time to cope up and let go of the past. I think it is really hard, how can you let go or forgive a person who destroys you? It takes some time and some realization that everything happens for a reason. And the only cure is to let go and allow someone help you in the process.
Candace Parker I admire her strong personality, and there is Ryan Campbell (swoon) I love him I think everyone does! When the two meet there is an instant attraction between them, but it is not easy for them to enter a relationship when they know they are both hiding secrets from the past.
Candace is broken and it is hard for her to open up, and Ryan is willing to help her to overcome her problem, but can he really heal her? Is he enough to cure her? and that's for you to find out (grab your copy!)
Ryan's affection to her really captured my heart and his protectiveness and sometimes jealousy.
Candace friends plays a very special role in the story, since her parents can't accept her, they became her family. (watch out for Jase's story)
If I continue talking I might able to tell the whole story so it is better for me to zip up lol
All I can say is I really love the book I highly recommend this story to everyone. Cant wait for the other two books in this series! especially Ryan's story :)

Shine not Burn by Elle Casey

IT HAPPENED IN VEGAS.

I can't be held responsible. Things that happen there are supposed to stay there, right? Right? Yeeeah. Not so much.

Andie's just days away from tying the knot, but there's just ooooone little glitch. Apparently, she's already married. Or someone with her name is married to a guy out in Oregon of all places, and the courthouse won't issue her a marriage license until it's all cleared up. Tripping her way through cow pies and country songs to meet up with a man who gets around places on horseback is her very last idea of how to have a good time, but if she's going to get married, make partner at the firm, and have two point five kids before she's thirty-five, she needs to get to the bottom of this snafu and fix it quick ... before her fiance finds out and everything she's been working toward goes up in flames.

AXEL by Harper Sloan

Note from the author--This book is intended for a mature reading audience and isn't suitable for younger readers. Brash language, sexual hotness, delectable alpha males, some violence and adult situations are all over this book--you have been warned.

Fate hasn’t always been friends with Isabelle West. In fact, fate has been a downright bitch.

Isabelle has learned the hard way how hard life can be when fate isn’t by your side. It can hand you dreams on silver platters, but it can snatch them right back and hand you nightmares. One thing Isabelle knew for sure fate was consistent with was taking away everything she ever loved.

For the last two years Isabelle has been slowly clearing the clouds of her past. Happiness is finally on the horizon. She has a thriving business, great friends, and her life back. All she has to do is jump over the last hurdle…her ex-husband.

When problems start causing her to fear her new life, and memories that are better left forgotten start rushing to the surface the last thing she needs is a ghost from her past to come knocking on her door.

Axel never thought he would look into the eyes of Isabelle West again, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to now. He’s carried his anger for so long he isn’t sure he can just turn it off, but when he is faced with protecting her and an unexpected desire to have her again, life gets a little more complicated.

How will Axel and Isabelle deal when all their cards are put on the table and everything they thought was true blows up in their faces?

And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

So True...

Bully by Penelope Douglas

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.

We're neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.

So I left.

I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I'm back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I'm hoping that after a year of breathing room, he's moved on and forgotten all about me.

But even if he hasn't changed, I have. I'm not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We're going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.
